When Colette Lush released her Seven-One debut project, "Save Yourself" proved to be a vulnerable standout among the seven-track project to close out 2018. Nearly a year later, the singer delivers the acoustic version of "Save Yourself," which premieres with Billboard on Monday (Oct. 7).
Lush's contributions remain the same, but the stripped down tune and lack of bass makes "Save Yourself" tug on listeners' heartstrings that much harder. "I wanted to strip down the already-vulnerable song even more, to further embody what it felt like when I went through that situation," she tells Billboard.
The coinciding visual finds the former American Idol contestant glammed up and gallivanting through nature in a feathery ballroom dress. Lush teased the upcoming rework last week by referring to the original "Save Yourself" as one of her favorites that she's ever made.
