DaBaby is lashing out at his critics in the wake of his controversial comments.
While on stage at Rolling Loud Miami on Sunday, the ďBall If I Want ToĒ rapper made a series of vile comments that were offensive to the LGBTQ+ community.
ďIf you didnít show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually-transmitted diseases thatíll make you die in two, three weeks, put a cell phone lighter up,Ē DaBaby told the crowd. ďFellas, if you ainít suckiní dick in the parking lot, put your cell phone lights up.Ē
His DJ also added, ďSome of yíall ni**as suspect as a motherfu**er, letís be real.Ē
Now after the video went viral and sparked backlash, DaBaby is addressing what he calls ďweak ass internet shit.Ē Taking to his Instagram Story, he explained that his live show is intended for those in the audience and not those watching online.
ďWhat I do at a live show, itís for the audience at the live show,Ē he said. ďIt will never translate correctly to somebody looking at a little 5-6 second clip from they goddamn crib on their phone. It just donít work like that.Ē
He claims that his words were ďtwistedĒ and that he doesnít discriminate against anyone who comes to his shows, gay or straight. ďAll my fans at the show, the gay ones and the straight ones, we turned the f**k up,Ē he added. ďMy boy that was at the front of the stage left over there, ask him. We were turnt all night. My boy had the crop top on, front row. He out there in that jungle, in that water. He knew the words. I saw him. I was rappiní them bitches with him.Ē
He attempted to clarify his comments. ďI said if you donít got AIDS put a cell phone light up. I said if you ainít suck d**k in the parking lot put your cell phone lights up, so I could drop my next song. I wasnít goiní on no rant. Thatís called a call-to-action. Thatís what thatís called, ícause Iím a live performer. Iím the best live performer. Iím the live show killer.Ē
According to DaBaby, his fans donít have AIDS because theyíre not ďnasty gaysĒ or ďjunkies.Ē
ďEven my gay fans, donít got f**kiní AIDS, stupid ass ni**as. They donít got AIDS. My gay fans, they take care of themselves,Ē he said. ďThey ainít goiní for that. They ainít no nasty gay ni**as. They ainít no junkies. My gay fans, they got class. They ainít suckiní no d**k in no parking lot. You gotta get a room. A good one, 5-star hotel. You gotta wait to go to the crib. If they a fan of me, they on some big dog s**t. We ainít just goiní for nothiní. Even my gay fans got standards.Ē
He continued to dismiss the criticism. ďThis s**t donít concern yíall at all. Donít be disturbiní my motherf**kiní gay fans. You ainít supposed to get it. It ainít supposed to translate through a little 6-second clip on the cell phone. You ainít supposed to see that s**t anyway.Ē
T.I. came to DaBabyís defense in the wake of the backlash, commenting, ďIf Lil Nas X can kick his shit in peaceÖ so should dababy.Ē
To add more fuel to the fire, DaBaby angered some fans by bringing out Tory Lanez during his Rolling Loud set, which followed Megan Thee Stallionís performance.
