Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande will finally drop their long-awaited collaboration “Stuck With U” tomorrow (May 8), but Bieber’s A-list features don’t end there.
He briefly linked up with Grande for the remix of his 2015 hit “What Do You Mean?” just like he did with Miley Cyrus for “Overboard” during one of his 2011 shows, which was featured in his first concert documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Maybe it’s time the two child stars cross paths more officially.
Bieber and Grande’s manager Scooter Braun helped facilitate their alliance, but he’s also got Demi Lovato on his roster. When she interviewed her labelmate on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in March, Lovato told Bieber that his history of drug use and mental health issues resonated with hers. “We both had similar stories being in the industry really young and then we both had our struggles,” she said. “For me and my experience like when I struggled last year, I know I looked at you as an inspiration because you’ve been through this and you’ve come out of the other side. And I really just admire the man that you are today.”
Long gone are the days when the Biebs gave fans hits with Ludacris (“Baby” in 2009, “All Around The World” in 2012), Big Sean (“As Long As You Love Me” in 2012, “Memphis” in 2013, “No Pressure” in 2015), Jaden Smith (“Never Say Never” in 2011, “Fairytale” in 2012) and his earliest mentor Usher (“First Dance” in 2009, “Somebody To Love Remix” in 2010, “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)” in 2011). Or maybe he could bring them back.
Speaking of Big Sean, Bieber could link up with his superstar GF Jhené Aiko, or maybe the Canada native can team up with his fellow Ontarian Alessia Cara for a honey-voiced duet.
Earlier this year, Zayn shut down internet rumors that he cooked up something special with the “Intentions” singer. “Yo! thank you so much for letting me know about this. I do not have any new collaborations coming so please just keep checking here for any news,” the former One Direction member wrote on Twitter in February. But the fans already voiced what they wanted and still expect the two to deliver.
But the Changes artist purposefully shook things up when he snuck a cryptic line in his happy birthday tweet to BTS‘ Jungkook: “They ain’t ready ? now watch this tweet go crazy.” The ARMY definitely went crazy by quickly speculating the two global sensations might be working together.
