Hip Hop mogul Sean ďDiddyĒ Combs and Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry likely wonít be future owners the Carolina Panthers. The two were minority partners with billionaire Michael Rubin but now, the bid for the team has†reportedly hit a record $2.5 billion.
According to ESPN, Rubin, the owner Fanatics ó a leading online sports merchandise seller ó has dropped out the running amid the rumored bid, which would make the Panthers the highest-selling sports franchise in history. The Houston Rockets sold for $2.2 billion back in 2017.
But there’s still hope. ESPN reports Rubin is still interested ó as long as the price is right. The process is confidential, so sources canít completely confirm the accuracy the historic bid.
When it was first announced Panthers’ owner Jerry Richardson was putting the team up for sale, Diddy excitedly threw his hat in the ring Instagram.

Curry, who grew up in North Carolina, soon joined Diddy, tweeting ďI want in.Ē
