The virtual event will take place Easter Sunday on Diddy’s Instagram Live.
Sean “Diddy” Combs has a message for everyone on lockdown: put on your dancing shoes.
The hip-hop mogul announced Friday night (April 10) that he will host “the world’s biggest dance-a-thon” in an effort to raise money for healthcare workers in under served communities around the country.
“Me and my family are having a dance-a-thon — the whole world is invited,” Combs says in the Instagram clip. “We on lockdown, but we want to dance.”
Combs’ virtual dance-a-thon will take place on Instagram Live on Easter Sunday at 12 p.m. PT. The fundraiser, a partnership with Direct Relief, will also feature appearances by Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Shaq, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Kelly Rowland, Maluma and others, according to a representative for Diddy.
Earlier this week, Combs hosted a two-hour town hall meeting on REVOLT TV to discuss how COVID-19 is affecting the African-American community at large. The discussion featured appearances by Sen. Kamala Harris, Angela Rye, Meek Mill, the Rev. Al Sharpton, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Van Jones and others.
