With the future still remaining uncertain, people everywhere are stuck in their homes trying to hang in there until the coronavirus pandemic finally subsides. Country singer Dierks Bentley wanted to make sure those people felt seen with his performance at Sunday’s (April 5) ACM Presents: Our Country on CBS.
Sitting on a back porch, Bentley let his fans know that he was thinking about them, especially the ones who found themselves out of work recently. “Lot of stress out there, lot of people wondering where the next check is gonna come from,” he said with a sigh.
The singer introduced his 2014 song “I Hold On,” telling his fans, “I feel like we’re all holding on for dear life right now, waiting for this thing to pass.” Singing into the cool spring air, Bentley made sure to remind his fans what was important to focus on now: “To the things I can count on/ To keep me going strong/ Yeah, I hold on,” he sang.
It seems that someone was listening after all: As soon as Bentley concluded his track, a crow flying over head let out a loud caw. “You too,” Bentley said with a laugh. “Crow’s holding on!”
