DMX was actually thinking about Tony Yayo when he threw shade at Lloyd Banks’ lyrical ability.
has one of the most unique voices and deliveries in hip-hop history so, when he was asked about a list of the best lyricists of all-time, people took notice of his remarks. During a recent live-stream with Fat Man Scoop, Dark Man X interrupted Scoop and claimed that — who Scoop named as a top lyricist — in such an elite list.
While the exchange was not ill-mannered, Banks responded and DMX doesn’t think so highly of him.
“So because I didn’t come to the studio to work when HE reached out..I’m not that good?” pondered Banks.
It took a minute for X to issue his official response to the Punchline Kid but finally, he admitted that he was wrong and threw shade at another member in the process.

“It takes a real n***a to admit when he’s wrong……” wrote the legendary rapper over a screencap of Lloyd Banks’ tweets. “My apologies to loyd banks I was thinking tony yayo when I was asked about banks. I fuck with banks!”
Damn, what did Yayo do to deserve this? Poor guy.
At least DMX admitted his wrongdoing and Lloyd Banks can still shine as one of the best lyrical rappers of all time. There you have it, folks, it was just an honest mistake.
