A disco dream! Doja Cat unveiled the ’70s-inspired music video for her latest single “Say So” on Thursday (Feb. 27).
In the golden-hued clip, the star rocks a variety of sparkly, retro mini-dresses while batting her eyelashes at a handyman and hitting a nightclub in full disco regalia. “Day to night to morning, keep with me in the moment/ I’d let you had I known it, why don’t you say so?/ Didn’t even notice, no punches left to roll with/ You got to keep me focused, you want it, say so,” she sings airily before launching into the song’s swaggering rap verse.
On Wednesday night (Feb. 26), Doja Cat also stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the track live for the first time and hint at the video’s groovy aesthetic. Flanked by a pair of fierce back-up dancers, the star removed her long coat of lavender taffeta halfway through the performance to reveal a jaw-dropping jewel-encrusted jumpsuit with feathered sleeves and bell bottoms.
“Say So” serves as the first single of 2020 off Doja Cat’s sophomore studio album Hot Pink, following hits like “Juicy,” “Bottom B–ch” and “Cyber Sex.” This spring, she’s set to embark on a North American headlining tour in support of the LP, with stops in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and more.
