DragonForce is scheduled to kick off their U.S. tour later this week, but unfortunately, due to Gee Anzalone’s hospitalization, the drummer will not be joining the band on the trek.
The group shared some photos of Anzalone recovering in the hospital with a statement regarding his Myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. They also announced that Aquiles Priester will perform on the tour in Gee’s place.
“We will miss our brother Gee on the upcoming US tour, but health is most important,” guitarist Herman Li said in the statement. “We wish Gee a speedy recovery and we know he will be back on tour with us soon. We want to thank our friend Aquiles for stepping up and helping us out on short notice.”
DragonForce’s tour alongside Unleash the Archers and Visions of Atlantis kicks off March 5 in Mesa, Arizona and stretches until March 21, when the U.S. leg will wrap up in Brooklyn, New York.
