The wait is over.
After much anticipation, Drake has finally announced that his sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy will arrive in one week on Friday, Sept. 3. He interrupted an ESPN “SportsCenter†broadcast to cryptically reveal the date on a cardboard sign that read “CLB September 3.â€
The album has been a long time coming. Drake originally said it would arrive in January, but it was pushed after he suffered a knee injury. The project went on to face several delays, with Drake most recently announcing that it would arrive by the end of summer.

During an appearance on Sound 42’s “Fry Yiy Friday†on SiriusXM last month, he said that the follow-up to 2018’s Scorpion was finally finished.
“Album’s cooked. Looking forward to delivering it to you,†he told fans. “Certified Lover Boy on the way, and that’s for anyone in the way.â€
The release date comes as Drake reignited his feud with Kanye West. Some fans believe Kanye is waiting to drop DONDA at the same time as CLB and that the rap rivals could face off on the charts the way Ye’s Graduation and 50 Cent’s Curtis did back in 2007.
