Contemporary streetwear label thisisneverthat is no stranger to sneaker collaborations as it has worked with partners like Clarks Originals, Converse and New Balance in the past. Its relationship with the latter continues to grow stronger as they have worked on an array of silhouettes together such as the 860v2, 1906 and the 2002R. And now it look as though a thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 collaboration is in the works as early images of the pair have popped up on our radar.

The South Korea-based label makes a noticeable modification to the construction of its forthcoming team-up. Instead of utilizing its traditional leather and suede panels, it employs a canvas material that’s drenched in a dark brown hue to make up a majority of the base layer’s real estate. Lace loops match up with glossy brown finishes while solid black accents sit adjacent and drop off on the laces, cracked leather “N” logos, interior liners and “thisisneverthat” branding that is embroidered into the heels. Furthermore, a call-out to the streetwear brand also appears on the tongue banners in tonal fashion.

More information regarding this pair’s official release will likely pop up in the coming months.
