Echosmith hosted a decorated Billboard Live At-Home concert on Tuesday afternoon (April 7) to raise money for MusiCares, which provides emergency relief for artists in need.
The sibling trio, alongside their touring guitarist Jacob Evergreen, turned their living room into a fully fledged stage underneath the yellow lights of a candlelit chandelier that matched the twinkly lights wrapped around the mic stands. But those weren’t the only sparkling ornaments for the band’s spirited set.
Lead vocalist Sydney Sierota jumped into an indie-rock rendition of Dua Lipa‘s “Don’t Start Now,” which was equally groovy and danceable as the original ’80s disco-inspired top five Hot 100 hit. Toward the end of the festive performance, gold confetti showered down on the bandmates.
Echosmith also sprinkled in a cover of Coldplay‘s “Fix You” at the tail end of their fan-requested “Bright” performance, on which Sydney harmonized with her brother and bassist Noah Sierota for a bright segment to cheer up fans. But the cool kids are far from finished when it comes to illuminating the Lonely Generation, the name of their sophomore album, which takes on a whole new meaning in the era of self-isolation.
Their Billboard Live At-Home performance is just the fourth stop of The Lonely Generation Digital World Tour, which will take the indie rock band all over social media to perform in front of thousands of fans. Catch their Billboard stop above, and donate to MusiCares here.
