‘El Androide’ Goes Top 10 On Latin Albums Chart

El Alfa lands his second top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart, as El Androide arrives at No. 9 on the survey dated May 30.

His third studio album opens with 4,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 21, according to Nielsen Music/ MRC Data.

The Top Latin Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

El Androide was released May 15 El Jefe Records. The bulk of the 20-track set’s opening sales stem from streaming activity. It logged 6.3 million on-demand streams in the tracking week, a career-high weekly total for the Dominicana native.

Prior to El Androide, El Alfa claimed his first top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart with 2018’s El Hombre, which debuted at No. 7. His first chart visit arrived in 2017 when his studio album debut Disciplina opened at No. 45.

As far as other El Androide placement, the album debuts at No. 7 on Latin Rhythm Albums chart, his second top 10 there as well.

El Androide was preceded by just one charting track on the Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, sales and streaming data: “Coronao Now,” with Lil Pump, peaked at No. 30 on the Feb. 29-dated tally.

El Alfa, meanwhile secures another entry on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart. “PAM,” with Justin Quiles and Daddy Yankee, debuts at No. 24.
