The singer is also headed out this February on tour.
Francesca Blanchard premiered the music video for her new single "Ex-Girlfriend" on Thursday (Feb. 6), exclusively to Billboard.
In the clip, the singer is caught comparing herself to a new flame's former lover, thanks to the lure of social media. "I just spent an hour stalking your ex-girlfriend on the internet/ All I saw were pretty pictures, memories from a time before we met/ I can't seem to shake the feeling you both have unfinished business/ And you must think I'm awful foolish diagnosing your predicament," she intones over vampy guitar.
"I wanted it to feel like a never-ending scroll through Instagram, perfect snapshots of strangers living their lives," Blanchard tells Billboard of the visual inspiration behind the video. "To capture that icky feeling I get after accidentally spying on people for hours. But I can't help it, because everything looks so damn pretty on a screen."
"Ex-Girlfriend" follows the Vermont-based artist's pair of 2019 singles, "Streets of Philadelphia" and "Baby." Up next, she'll embark on a tour of the Eastern U.S., bookended by two of three separate shows at New York City's Rockwood Music Hall in the next six weeks.
