On Jan. 31, 2018, French Montana posted a picture on Instagram his friend and fellow rapper, Max B, with a caption that reads, “Wavyyyy in the joint!!! Can’t wait till u get home this year ? #wavycrocket.” French’s post seems to confirm the early release Max B — born Charles Wingate — who was originally sentenced to 75 years in prison back in 2009.
The sentence was based on charges from 2006 that included aggravated assault, armed robbery, and felony murder. These charges were apparently due to Max B’s involvement in a robbery-turned-homicide that occurred in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Max B, his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam, and his on-and-f girlfriend, Gina Conway allegedly plotted to rob two men from out–town who had been flashing big money around NYC. In a plea deal, Conway testified against Max B and his stepbrother.
