Fuerza Regida Debuts at No. 1 on Regional Mexican Albums Chart With ‘Del Barrio Hasta Aqui’

Fuerza Regida notches its first No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart (dated July 13), as Del Barrio Hasta Aqui opens in the top slot. "We are your regular hood kids,” the group’s frontman Jesus Ortiz Paz tells Billboard email, regarding the No. 1 news. “The ones you see every day. We love our roots and our Mexican music, however we are doing it our way, our style. We are never giving up and we're excited for what's up next!"

Del Barrio Hasta Aqui launches in the penthouse following a partial week of activity after the album’s off-cycle release on Thursday, July 4 (instead of on a Friday, when most albums are released, ensuring that it would get a full seven days of tracking in its debut week).

The set starts with 2,000 equivalent album units earned (mostly driven by streaming activity) in the U.S. for the week ending July 4 according to Nielsen Music. The set will likely retain a high placing on the July 20-dated chart, following its first full week of charting activity.

The Regional Mexican Albums chart ranks the most popular regional Mexican albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Del Barrio is Fuerza Regida’s second entry on the Regional Mexican Albums chart, following the February's EP Las Romanticas Favoritas De Fuerza Regida, which hit No. 19 on the March 2-dated list.

Del Barrio Hasta Aqui’s opening sum of 2,000 units was driven almost entirely by streaming activity, as only a negligible number of units were owed to album sales or TEA units. The album’s songs tallied about 2.7 million on-demand audio streams during the tracking frame, led by the track “Sigo Chambeando,” with 1.3 million. The tune has so far peaked at No. 11 on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart.

On the overall Top Latin Albums chart, which ranks all varieties of Latin music, Del Barrio bows at No. 19. It’s the act’s first entry on the list.
