Green Bay Packers WR Arrested For Bomb Joke At LAX

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was reportedly arrested at LAX on Sunday morning after making a foolish joke about smuggling a bomb into the airport, according to multiple reports.

USA Today reports that a ticket agent at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter was asking Davis and his female companion if they had any unapproved items such as aerosols, knives or explosives, which is standard protocol before checking in. The 24-year old receiver then turned to his friend and made “a statement in the area of, ‘Yeah, did you pack the explosives?'”

As a result, Davis was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of making a bomb threat but was later released on $15,000 bail.

The Green Bay Packers released the following statement regarding Davis’ arrest, according to USA Today Sports.

“The Packers are aware of the matter involving Trevor Davis,” the team said in a statement. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will refrain from making any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter.”

Davis, a fifth-round pick by the Packers in the 2016 NFL Draft, has spent each of his first two seasons with the team, but has only managed eight catches for 94 yards and a touchdown during that time. He also serves as a punt and kick returner for the Pack, averaging 12 yards per punt return and 22.8 yards per kickoff return in the 2017 season.
