While we’re all still trying to wrap our lips around how to pronounce the name of Grimes‘ newborn son, X Æ A-12 Musk, the singer shared the first video of the boy late Sunday (May 10).
The short clip from her Instagram Story shows Tesla/Space-X founder and new dad Elon Musk patting the baby’s back as the little man takes a nap on dad’s chest.
It’s been a whirlwind week for the cyberpunk couple, which has included debate — even between them — on the spelling of the boy’s name as well as a helpful primer from now-father-of-six Musk on how to pronounce little X’s unusual moniker.
Musk addressed the question during Thursday’s (May 7) episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He noted that “X” is pronounced like the letter, and Æ sounds like “ash.”He went on to add that A-12 was his idea. “Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR71, coolest plane ever,” he explained. The Space X boss also admitted that Grimes was actually the one who “mostly came up with the name… Yeah, she’s great at names,” he laughed.
