Plucked from the deluxe version of his acclaimed album ‘Everywhere & Nowehere’, charismatic rapper Guvna B enlists the idiosyncrasy of grime pioneer D Double E for ‘Very Original’.
Initially released last April on Allo Mate Records, the album garnered praise from major tastemakers such as GRM Daily and The Independent. Featuring major industry draws such as Wretch 32 and Barney Artist, the body of work plunged into each area of Guvna’s consciousness with fluid and explorative narration. Following the success of the album, the double MOBO award winning rapper has blessed us with another six helpings – the stand out of these being this collaboration with the legendary D Double E.
The murky and mystical grime influenced instrumental – with its booming bass, airy synths and snappy drums – is the perfect backdrop for the two rappers to trade bars with poise and magnetism. Well known for his evangelical and uplifting approach, Guvna doesn’t disappoint here with soaring introspection. D Double, on the other hand, does what he does better than anyone else in the game – pulling out his signature flow for some hard hitting imagery with his classic raw, raspy delivery.
