Halsey Leaks 'Manic' Deep-Cut in Honor of Pride Month

Halsey let her lips loose last night (June 14) when the pop star leaked the original version of her Manic deep-cut “Wipe Your Tears” on Twitter.

For fans who got their hands on the Japanese edition of her Billboard 200 No. 2 album from earlier this year, their ears already recognized the exclusive bonus track. But Halsey wanted to release the original version of the song, which sounds different than the one that made it onto the album, on her social media to celebrate Pride Month.

“prolly gon get in trouble for this but, happy pride ! here’s the full OG version of wipe your tears. my favorite wlw song of mine that ended up on a special release of Manic if it gets taken down it ain’t my fault,” she said while uploading a two-minute screen recording of the melancholic lullaby playing from her Notes app.

One fan commented on how this version “is so superior” to the one that actually made the cut, but Halsey couldn’t help it but reveal there was still one more never-before-heard version of “Wipe Your Tears.” The 25-year-old artist explained to another eager fan that she’ll “get in too much trouble” if she keeps letting the cat out of the bag “cause it has a feature.” Naturally, Twitter users flooded her replies with guesses predominantly within the LGBTQIA+ artist community, including her “Strangers” collaborator Lauren Jauregui, Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani. Since Halsey emphasized in tongue-in-cheek fashion that she drew the line, whoever is featured on the third version of “Wipe Your Tears” hasn’t let their lips loose — yet.
