Harry Styles finally dropped the long-awaited video for his single “Watermelon Sugar” on Monday (May 18), and boy, is it a pure summertime treat.
Directed by Bradley & Pablo, the sun-drenched visual finds the pop star in Malibu, hosting a sensual, fruit-filled picnic for a bevy of beachside beauties.
“Strawberries on a summer evening/ Baby you’re the end of June/ I want your belly and that summer feeling/ Getting washed away with you/ Breathe me in, breathe me out/ I don’t know if I could ever go without/ Watermelon sugar high,” Styles croons as extras take turns feeding him the titular fruit and kissing him on the cheek, all while the lusty party gets progressively more touchy. (The visual does open, after all, with a slide that reads “This video is dedicated to touching.”)
“Watermelon Sugar” serves as the fourth single from the former One Direction-er’s sophomore solo album, Fine Line, following lead single “Lights Up,” grooving romantic jam “Adore You” and heartsick ballad “Falling.” Originally released as a promo track back in November 2019, the sugary song has thus far peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 ahead of its release as an official single.
