Nicky Jam talks “Bad Boys for Life” role, Daddy Yankee reunion & more at film’s Miami premiere.
Nicky Jam has always been a fan of the Bad Boys movie series, but he never imagined that an opportunity to be part of the cast would come up — until last year, when he confirmed that he was going to play one of the villains in Bad Boys for Life, the third installment in the trilogy, out Friday.
Nicky Jam's character becomes the perfect hook for the bad boys Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) to catch criminals. “My scene is about them chasing me and shooting me with a rubber bullet, and I get a huge bump in the forehead,” Jam told Billboard during the film's premiere Sunday in Miami Beach, Fla. "My supposed bump on the forehead made them laugh so much."
Last week, Nicky Jam also premiered his new single "Muévelo" with Daddy Yankee. The superstars reunited after 20 years and, on March 28, they will perform in Medellin, Colombia. “There’s a short album coming,” he added. But will they come to the United States? "There are plans for that."
Bad Boys for Life hits theaters on Friday, and according to Nicky Jam, these are the three tips to be a real bad boy: Have the bad boy look, the attitude and a big heart.
