iHeartRadio is throwing a virtual prom! On Thursday (April 30), the radio giant announced that Dua Lipa and 102.7 KIIS FM’s JoJo Wright will co-host the 2020 iHeartRadio Prom for high school students across the country missing out on their big dance due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
“Prom is such a significant milestone for high school students across the country,” Wright said of the event in a statement. “Through the power of radio, we are excited to bring prom to the to the safety of our listeners living rooms, with some of the biggest names in music performing for the special occasion.
Streaming May 8 at 8:00 p.m. local time across iHeartRadio stations nationwide, the on-air dance party is set to include custom celebrity DJ mixes by the likes of Marshmello, Diplo, Will.i.am and Martin Garrix, as well as special for the Class of 2020 from John Legend, AJ Mitchell, Noah Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter and more.
Lewis Capaldi will also perform his hit 2019 ballad “Before You Go” during the four-hour event as attendees’ first slow dance of the night.
Additionally, Dua Lipa fans listening in can submit photos of themselves all dressed up for their big night throughout the evening for a chance to win a virtual meet and greet with the pop star — all by using the hashtags #iHeartProm and #iHeartDua Lipa.
