International Women's Day: 15 Latin Girl-Power Anthems

Billboard Latin is honoring this International Women’s Day by featuring some of the empowering songs we listen to for inspiration and motivation.

One of those tracks is Amandititita and Sandra Echeverría‘s recently-released collaboration “De Mejores Corazones Me Han Corrido (I’ve Been Let Go From Better Hearts),” an almost comical take on leaving a toxic relationship behind.

After dropping her single ladies anthem “Ticket de Salida” with Chiquis Rivera, she tapped actress and singer Echeverría for another empowering cumbia in an effort to continue supporting and celebrating Mexican female talent.

“I did the collaborations with other women on purpose but they also worked out magically,” Amandititita tells Billboard. “The two collaborations are about ending something with dignity and feeling empowered by your decision. ‘De Mejores Corazones Me Han Corrido’ is about a woman who doesn’t allow herself to be defeated by a failed relationship.”

The cumbia song was penned by both Amandititita and Echeverría. “We can all relate to this song because some time in our lives, we’ve probably all been in a toxic relationship,” Echeverría adds.

Below, listen to “De Mejores Corazones Me Han Corrido” and other empowering tracks to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8), including Julieta Venegas’ new powerful and inspiring song “Mujeres,” rising star Cami‘s “Aquí Estoy” and Bomba Estéreo‘s “Soy Yo.”
