The midtempo reggaeton track, whose catchy hook says “yo pedi un trago y ella la botella,” crowns the Latin Airplay chart (dated April 25), climbing 4-1 in its 13th week, following “Blanco,” which had a one-week reign on the March 21-dated list.
For Balvin, having “Morado” as his second No. 1 from Colores is a blessing because it shows that his fans are loving the song. “Especially because it’s a sound that is very J Balvin. I wanted to bring it back to my beginnings,” the Colombian artist tells Billboard. “Shout-out to Sky for producing both ‘Morado’ and ‘Blanco’ off the album. Leggo!”
