Jack Harlow tried to get it poppin’ with Saweetie.
The “WHATS POPPIN” rapper attempted to shoot his shot with the newly-single Icy Grl on the red carpet at Sunday’s BET Awards. The Shade Room’s cameras were rolling as Jack pulled up on Saweetie as she was doing an interview.
“Hi Saweetie,” said Jack while introducing himself and shaking her hand.
“It’s Jack,” he said, to which Saweetie responded, “I know.”
She seemingly sensed he was nervous and asked, “Why you shaking?” But he denied that he was feeling anxious. “Nobody’s shaking,” he said.
After he left, the interviewer asked Saweetie if Jack was shooting his shot. “I don’t know, but y’all better not be messy with this shit,” she said.
Despite the awkward run-in, the two are no strangers. Jack appeared on the remix to Saweetie’s single “Tap In” last year alongside Post Malone and DaBaby.
Saweetie is newly single following her high-profile relationship with Quavo. The Migos rapper is reportedly selling the $280,000 Bentley he gave his ex-girlfriend for Christmas.
Saweetie remains focused on music including her long-awaited debut album Pretty Bitch Music, which has been delayed. “This album needs to have feelings, it needs to have soul, it needs to have spirit,” she told Billboard. “And I have a lot of room for improvement, so I’m gonna work on that. And once it’s done, the album will be released.”
She also teased a project with Cher. “Me and Cher are working on a really big campaign. I can’t share too much because of contracts,” she added.
