Jared Leto Emerges From Silent Retreat To Coronavirus Emergency

He had no phone, no communication and no idea what was going on.

Believe it or not, Jared Leto is just now waking up the coronavirus crisis. The Thirty Second to Mars singer posted a series of tweets on Tuesday morning (March 17), explaining that he’s been off the grid at a silent retreat for the past two weeks –and when he got home on Monday night, he was floored by how quickly things had changed since Pres. Trump declared the COVID-19 pandemic a national emergency last week.

“Wow. 12 days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert. We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility,” Leto tweeted. “Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing – to say the least. I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on.”

While Leto was cloaked in silence, the nation was preparing to hunker down and socially distance themselves in an effort to help flatten the curve on the raging novel coronavirus that has claimed 94 lives to date in the U.S., which had more than 5,200 reported cases at press time.
