Jennifer Lopez can’t wait to say “I do” to her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, but she’ll have to because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 50-year-old superstar chatted with TODAY host Hoda Kotb about having to hold off on their special day. “There’s no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out,” Lopez said. “It’s disappointing, obviously, on one level. After the Super Bowl and after World of Dance, after we finished filming it, I planned to take time off, which is what we’re doing kind of right now.”
The former MLB star got down on one knee last March for a beautiful beachside proposal, and J. Lo is keeping her eye on the horizon in hopes of something bigger and better coming along for the two.
“I’m a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans, but I’m also like, ‘You know what? God has a bigger plan.’ And so we just have to wait and see,” she continued. “Maybe it’s going to be better. I have to believe that it will be.”
Lopez, who’s been with A-Rod for three years, told Ellen DeGeneres back in April that the nuptials would not happen as planned due to the outbreak. “Honestly, I really don’t know what’s doing to happen now as far as dates or anything like that,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We’re just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world.”
