"We need a warning to switch the channel which we did after the double butt shake, thank goodness," one complaint reads.
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira‘s historic Super Bowl halftime show has been a huge talking point since it went down earlier this month — and it also drew more than 1,300 complaints to the Federal Communications Communications.
Following the epic performance — which included pole dancing, booty shaking and belly dancing — some viewers across the United States felt the need to reach out to the FCC and express their disappointment over the “inappropriate” performances by the Latina superstars. The complaints (500 pages total) were made public by the FCC and posted on the FCC’s website this week.
“Was extremely offensive and inappropriate for kids, was during prime time and many children watching,” someone wrote from Colorado.
Another person from Utah said, “Inappropriate dancing for young children, crotch camera views, shaking of mostly bare butts – we need a warning to switch to the channel which we did after the double butt shake, thank goodness case we missed even more too sexual moves.”
Despite the complaints, 103 million people tuned in to watch J.Lo and Shakira’s halftime show — more than the overall viewership for Super Bowl LIV, which this year recorded 99.9 million people watching the major sporting event.
