Country star Joe Diffie died over the weekend at 61 following complications from COVID-19. Following his death, his widow Tara took to Instagram to share a touching message, thanking fans for their love and support.

“I cannot count how many people have contacted me. From coast to coast, all walks of life,” she wrote alongside a photo of the couple sharing a kiss next to their tractor and two little piglets. “Joe was so loved and I hope he can see how he affected everyone’s lives. From the candles, to the parade, to the people leaving gifts at the house- i thank you from the bottom of my heart! The radio stations are all playing his music and it makes my heart happy.”

“We have loved every tribute. He loved his fans, his friends, his family and he was truly happy. Please keep playing his music,” she continued. “Please keep his legacy alive forever.”

She also shared a sweet follow-up video from their wedding night, in which Diffie is seen singing into a microphone with his arm around his new wife. “They recognized Joe right away and he sang. This was one of the best nights of my life,” she wrote.
