John Legend brought style, grace and some ooh laa when her performed on The Tonight Show Monday night (June 23).
The EGOT star logged in for a virtual performance of “Ooh Laa,” lifted from his new album Bigger Love, which dropped last Friday.
Wearing a classy cream suit and flanked by his backing band, Legend looked rejuvenated by the lockdown.
Earlier, Legend logged on for a chat with Jimmy Fallon on the new album, his first since 2016’s Darkness and Light. There was no way he was going to delay the release until life returned to normal. “If there was anything I’d want to put out right now, this is it because I felt people need some love in their lives,” he explained. “People need to feel good. Particularly at the beginning of the summer, I thought this is the right thing for people to hear, so…I said let’s put it out.”
Legend also discussed his role in establishing FreeAmerica, an organization placing a spotlight on the fact that America incarcerates more of its citizens than any other country. We’re “trying to change the system,” he explains.
