Juan Luis Guerra’s No. 1 Hits On the Hot Latin Songs Chart: ‘Palomita Blanca,’ ‘Bachata en Fukuoka’ & More

Together with his band 4.40, Juan Luis Guerra keeps bringing the flavorful rhythms of his native Dominican Republic to the forefront, most recently on his album Literal, which he described to Billboard “as something new and very modern.”

But Guerra, who turns 62 on Friday (June 7), is celebrating more than just a new album. With Literal, he’s commemorating a remarkable 35-year trajectory that has transcended generations with his fresh merengue, amorous bachata and inspirational lyrics.
