Julien’s Auctions is teaming with the MusiCares Foundation for an online auction benefitting the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund on Sept. 9. After putting out a call to artists and celebs for one-of-a-kind items and memorabilia from their lives and careers, the list of donations includes goodies from Billie Eilish, Barbra Streisand, Blake Shelton, the Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Cher, Depeche Mode, Hans Zimmer, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Robert Plant, Tony Iommi and Willie Nelson, among others.
“In this new world of social distancing and isolation, music and the arts has brought us together and given us hope and salvation from the despair and loss that we’ve all felt these last months,” said Darren Julien, President/Chief Executive Officer of Julien’s Auctions in a statement announcing the event, which will be held in Beverly Hills and online here.
“We thank Bill Wyman for his generous offering and are calling on all artists from film, music, sports, fashion and more to look into their closets and archives and donate an iconic item or two to this urgent initiative.” At press time the items up for auction had not yet been revealed, though Plant did tease that he’s offering up a guitar he’s used to practice in his bedroom for 55 years.
