Justin Quiles Interview: Singer on 'Pam,' Quarantine Life

Justin Quiles joined Billboard Latin’s assistant editor Jessica Roiz for an Instagram Live Q&A to talk all about his new single “Pam,” quarantine life, and more on May 1.

The Puerto Rican singer, who exclusively premiered the music video for “Pam” on Billboard, revealed how the collaboration was born, saying that the song was originally meant to be only him and El Alfa. Daddy Yankee then jumped on the track after listening to it at the studio.

For Quiles, the reggaeton-meets-dembow collaboration is a dream come true. “I have a lot of faith in it,” he said.

In the Live Q&A, Quiles expressed he’s been quarantined in Miami since the end of February and following all the safety guidelines. “I have a studio at home, I love to invent. I cook in the afternoon and at night I watch a Netflix series or read a book,” he said, recommending Narcos Mexico and Locke & Key.

Toward the end of the chat, Quiles answered some rapid-fire questions, revealing that Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good” is the song he has on repeat, J Balvin is the artist he chats with the most and he’s washing his hands, showering and cooking more than ever. His go-to dish? Cooked Spam, fried eggs, and rice.
