Kanye West Readies Yeezy Skid Row Collaboration to Help Homeless

Kanye West is doing his part to solve the homeless crisis.

The Yeezy designer is teaming up with streetwear brand Skid Row Fashion Week on a clothing collection and fashion show, with the goal of raising money for L.A.’s homeless population.

According to TMZ, David Sabastian, the founder of Skid Row Fashion Week, met with Ye earlier this month while recording DONDA 2 at his studio near L.A.’s Skid Row, and they decided to collaborate.

The Yeezy x Skid Row Fashion Week collection drops Feb. 22, the same day as DONDA 2, and all proceeds will go towards creating more jobs for the homeless at the Skid Row Fashion Week factory. Items include hoodies and tees with a blue box Skid Row logo, inspired by Yeezy Gap.

Additionally, Ye and Skid Row Fashion Week are planning to showcase their collaboration with a fashion show starring some of the Skid Row factory workers as models. The designers want to integrate items found on Skid Row into the runway ensembles, which could include a trash bag puffer jacket.

The billionaire rapper has shown his commitment to the homeless community in the past. On Thanksgiving, he donated over 1,000 meals to Skid Row as part of the L.A. Mission’s annual event.
