While others are bored at home in quarantine, Karol G is creating music. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Colombian artist dropped a new song called “Follow” in collaboration with boyfriend Anuel AA.
Produced by Ovy on the Drums, “Follow” is a fusion of old-school reggae roots and sensual urban melodies about two people who like each other but are playing hard to get. “I’m always on your Instagram but you never follow me,” the Puerto Rican trap star sings, to which Karol responds: “You follow tons of women, that’s why I don’t follow you.”
According to the “Tusa” singer, the collaboration was recorded at their Miami home during the quarantine. When sharing a preview with her fans on Instagram, she promised to release it once she reached 500K comments.
No music video accompanies the Wednesday (April 1) launch, but Karol did hint at a homemade clip in a back-and-forth comment with her official photographer Felipe Orvi.
“Follow” marks Karol G and Anuel AA’s fourth collaboration, following “Culpables,” “Secreto” and “Dices Que Te Vas.”
