Katy Perry Drops Acoustic Version of ‘Daisies,' Confirms ‘Never Really Over’ Will Be on ‘KP5’

Katy Perry unveiled a soothing acoustic version of her hit “Daisies” on Wednesday (July 1).

The stripped-down track features Perry’s flawless vocals over acoustic guitar: “They told me I was out there/ Tried to knock me down/ Took those sticks and stones/ Showed ’em I could build a house/ They tell me that I’m crazy/ But I’ll never let ’em change me/ ‘Til they cover me in daisies/ Daisies, daisies.” The track is out now via Capitol Records.

Meanwhile, Perry revealed in an interview that “Never Really Over,” the first taste of her new musical era that was released over a year ago, will be on her upcoming fifth album. “I’m definitely going to put ‘Never Really Over’ on the record,” she told Kiss 92.5’s Chris Kelly of the fan favorite track. Perry’s yet-untitled album is due Aug. 14.
