Katy Perry gave her fiancé Orlando Bloom a shout-out for “portraying a real hero” in his new movie The Outpost.
The 35-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Saturday (July 4) to share a trailer for the war drama, where Bloom plays a U.S. soldier battling Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.
“There’s many ways to celebrate the #FourthOfJuly One way is celebrating the stories of the incredible men and women who protect our freedoms every day,” Perry wrote, adding a link to the film on Apple TV. “So proud of @orlandobloom for portraying a real hero. Check out his incredible role in @theoutpostmovie, out today!”
Bloom, who has been quarantining with his pregnant wife-to-be during the coronavirus pandemic, recently expressed being blown away by the pop star’s strength.
“Aside from the giant belly, you wouldn’t know [she’s pregnant],” he recently told the Associated Press. “She’s a force of nature, obviously, as we all know. But it’s been really impressive. There’s no complaining. She’s just all about it.”
Perry surprised the world with her pregnancy in early March by debuting her baby bump in the music video for her song “Never Worn White.”
The pop star and actor got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2018.
