Katy Perry called into The View on Wednesday (April 29) to give an update on being pregnant and quarantined in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“I have nothing to compare it to because it’s my first, so obviously I’m just taking it one day at a time,” the pop star told host Meghan McCain. “I’m saying my prayers, I’m chanting, I’m looking for gratitude in every corner of my life.”
As for how she’s coping with the unknown future presented by the global crisis, Perry admitted she’s having a difficult time learning to let go. “I think the whole world is going through this weird loss of certainty,” she continued. “And so it’s like you have to surrender in these times, which is difficult for me ’cause I’m a control freak.”
The American Idol judge first announced she was expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom with a surprise reveal in the music video for her latest single “Never Worn White.” While the specific due date remains a mystery, the couple have since confirmed that the baby will be a girl with a messy, shaving cream-covered Instagram post.
