Katy Perry has always unapologetically herself, and she’s proving it on her empowering new single “Daisies.”
The tune, a powerful pop tune celebrates the strength of the human spirit as it overcomes adversity. “They said I’m going nowhere / Tried to cut me out / Took those sticks and stones / Showed them I could build a house / Tell me that I’m crazy / Never let them change me / So they cover me in daisies,” the chorus proclaims.
The accompanying video shows Perry, who is expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom, performing the tune surrounded by nature.
Fans can now pre-order “Daisies”-themed bundles here. They can also visit the singer’s digital flower shop, Katy’s Daisies, and send virtual bouquets and messages to friends and loved ones.
“Daisies” is the latest single off Perry’s as-of-yet untitled upcoming album. It follows previously released tracks “Never Worn White,” “Harleys in Hawaii” and “Small Talk.”
Her fifth album is out August 14 Capitol Records.
