Before singing “Wasted Time” from his Nashville studio, 2019 ACM entertainer of the year Keith Urban – the first artist to deliver a remote performance during Sunday (April 5) night’s ACM Presents: Our Country broadcast on CBS – stated what we’re all thinking: “This is a very strange time.”
Urban sent thanks, support and respect from himself, wife Nicole Kidman and their daughters to “all the first responders out there, everybody in the healthcare field and the public safety officers as well.” Urban lauded the “insurmountable amount of people on the front lines, day and night, risking so much for so many.”
To help bring some healing and togetherness to this time of crisis, Urban busted out his acoustic guitar for a rippin’ version of his Ripcord single “Wasted Time,” which he pointed out has “taken on a different meaning” these days.
Urban was supposed to host the 2020 ACM Awards from Las Vegas on Sunday; now, that event has been moved to Sept. 16.
