Kelly Clarkson opened Tuesday's (Jan. 7) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with a rollicking cover of Lady Gaga's "You and I."
Wearing a multicolored, striped dress, the talk show host belted out her Kellyoke version of Gaga's 2011 hit standing front and center on stage rather than make her usual entrance through the audience. "Somethin', somethin' about this place/ Somethin' 'bout lonely nights and my lipstick on your face/ Somethin', somethin' about my cool Texas guy/ Yeah there's somethin', somethin' 'bout you and I," Clarkson wailed, ad-libbing the lyics and replacing the "Nebraska" in the song's chorus with the home state of her husband, Brandon Blackstock.
During the show, the talk show host also interviewed Jenna Dewan, who revealed during the chat that she once worked as Clarkson's backup dancer for a performance in a Walmart parking lot shortly after the host won American Idol.
Clarkson has previously covered Gaga's "Shallow" from A Star Is Born.
