Kid Cudi Confirms Part in ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’: ‘These Movies Were My Childhood’

Imagine watching a movie your whole life and then getting cast in the reboot of that franchise? That's the spot Kid Cudi finds himself in, now that he can share the exciting news that he's been cast in the reboot BIll & Ted Face the Music.

"Really excited about Bill and Ted man this is gonna be unreal," the Grammy-winning rapper tweeted on Thursday (June 13). "These movies were my childhood!! Crazy dude."

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, there is little detail on what part Cudi (born Scott Mescudi) will play in the film, which will find Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising their respective roles as beloved time traveling shredders Bill and Ted. The rapper/singer has appeared in a number of films, including Need for Speed, Entourage, James White and Vincent N Roxxy.

Face the Music, due out on Aug. 21, 2020, has been in development for years and follows 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving will round out the cast as Bill and Ted's daughters, with original creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon writing the script and Galaxy Quest's Dean Parisot directing.

Cudi got a shout out from the official Bill & Ted twitter feed on Thursday, with the Wyld Stallyns welcoming him to the family, whild Cudi recalled that time he ran into the duo and freaked.
