Plus, moves for Major Lazer, Marcus Mumford, Tiesto and Loud Luxury.
Kylie Minogue sets new career-high marks with her new single “Say Something” on both Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (No. 19) and Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (No. 3) charts (dated Aug. 8).
The song, the first released from her forthcoming studio album Disco (Nov. 6), earned 429,000 U.S. streams and sold 3,000 downloads in the tracking week ending July 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
On the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, which started in January 2013, “Say” is Minogue’s first foray into the top 20. Previous highs amongst her six charted titles include “Into The Blue” (No. 24, 2014) and “Right Here, Right Now” (Giorgio Moroder featuring Minogue, No. 26, 2015).
Looking at Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, which began in January 2010, “Say” is Minogue’s first top 10, eclipsing previous high “Get Outta My Way” (No. 12, 2010).
Minogue has 14 No. 1s on the nearly 42-year old Dance Club Songs chart, spanning from “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (2002) to “Dancing” (2018).
Shifting to Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Major Lazer motors to its fourth top 10 while featured vocalist Marcus Mumford earns his first with “Lay Your Head On Me” (19-8). The track earned a plethora of core-dance airplay in the week ending August 2, led by KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and WCPY Chicago.
(The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)
Additionally on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, two other tracks trek into the top 10. Tiesto earns his 12th top 10 with “Lose You,” featuring Ilira, who achieves her first (14-9), thanks to airplay leaders KMVQ-HD2, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and SiriusXM’s BPM.
Meanwhile, Loud Luxury lifts to its second top 10 as featured vocalist Morgan St. Jean grabs her first with “Aftertaste” (11-10). The track collected the most spins on BPM, KMVQ-HD2 and KNHC (C89.5) Seattle.
