Farm workers serenaded by a mariachi

A heartwarming video of a mariachi band serenading a group of immigrant farm workers in Oxnard, Calif., went viral on social media with the hashtags “heroes” and “essential workers.” Originally posted by Univision 34 reporter Julio César Ortiz this week, the tribute was in honor and appreciation for their continued work during the COVID-19 pandemic even without much protection.

Chris Perez gets emotional over Selena’s new MAC collection

Selena Quintanilla‘s widower Chris Perez took to Instagram to share his excitement over Selena’s new MAC collection. “While opening up the box, I could imagine her freaking out with that incredible smile of hers and saying…’This…is…AMAZING!’…and, she would be 100% correct. Thanks again to everyone for all the love and support for everything SELENA,” he captioned the post with the photo of the package he received.

The collection includes rich shades in a variety of product categories, including lipsticks and eyeshadows, that flatter all skin types and tones. The collection even includes a black makeup bag with rhinestones, paying homage to one of Selena’s iconic performance bustiers.

Reykon‘s debut on Netflix 

The Colombian singer-songwriter made his acting debut with Locos Por Vos (Crazy About You) now streaming on Netflix. In the comedy film directed by Felipe Martinez, which premiered in theaters in Colombia in 2019, Reykon plays the role of Primo David (Cousin David) who dreams of one day becoming a famous reggaetón singer.

Eix releases debut album under Duars Entertainment

Hailing from Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, comes Christian Rohena Rodríguez, known as Eix, who’s presenting his debut album Yo Soy Eix under the independent label Duars Entertainment. The set is home to 12 songs that showcase his versatility as an artist, with acoustic ballads such as “Enfermo” to a sensual dancehall song as heard in “Infiel.” On Yo Soy Eix, the emerging artist and composer includes many promising collaborations, including with Darkiel, Brytiago, Rauw Alejandro and Eladio Carrion, to name a few. The lead single that dropped with the album on Friday (April 24) is “De Visita” in collaboration with Eladio and Valentino. “I consider myself a different artist,” he said. “The people who listen to my music identify with it, because I singl about daily experiences of relationship, friends and life itself. What I want is to carry a positive message and continue working hard; This is the only way to achieve success.”

Luis Fonsi Seeks Out His Next Hit on Songland

Luis Fonsi became the first Latin artist to be part of NBC’s show Songland as a judge. In the clip below, the Chilean-American singer-songwriter Pipobeats performs “Sway.” After choosing “Sway” as the winning song, Fonsi has recorded his own version, which is now available on digital platforms.
