Latin Songs We Love During Quarantine

Being forced to stay indoors and “socially distanced” very naturally leads us to reassess our personal playlists. Couple that with Easter and Passover, and we’re definitely in the midst of a reflective, thankful and collaborative state of mind. In a nod to the state of the times, Billboard’s Latin editors will be sharing their personal quarantine playlists with readers through April 17.  Griselda Flores, senior writer – Latin, shares hers today.

I’m hunkered down here in my Los Angeles apartment, where I moved in less than two months ago. The new surroundings, and this new work from home routine, makes me feel nostalgic for all things familiar. That’s why I’m leaning on artists that I grew up listening to in the ’90s and other artists I discovered in the new millennium.

My Latin alt/rock-laden playlist includes songs like “Las Flores” by Café Tacvba, Natalia Lafourcade‘s “El Destino” and Shakira‘s “Antologia.” While it might seem like I’m stuck in the old days, these songs transport me to a time of comfort and give me solace during these trying times.
