The latest esteemed guest to grace the Power 105.1 studios is Atlanta rapper, Lil Baby, who, after an impressive run of singles, has released his debut album, Harder Than Ever. The project, which includes features from Offset, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and more, is an impressive debut from an artist who only started rapping last year.
However, it’s his song with Drake, “Yes Indeed,” that really has people buzzing over this new project, and Lil Baby detailed the creation of that song, along with many other topics, during his visit with the hosts of Power 105.1’s famed interview show, The Breakfast Club.
Lil Baby isn’t much of a big talker, so he keeps the details light for the most part. In terms of his collaboration with Drake, he says that he’d been rocking with him for a while, and that Drake sent him the song with the beat and his verse already completed before he jumped on it. The working title of the song, “Pikachu,” was actually never the title of anything, and in fact it only came about because no one knew what to call it when it first dropped.
He also speaks about his experience addicted to lean, how he used to drink five or six ounces a day. He decided to quit after it began to effect him too much, and watching other artists, like Fredo Santana, die from overuse of the drug. He says he’s been off it for around two months.
