Lil Uzi Vert shows off his out-of-this-world directing skills in “BabyPluto,” the short film he dropped today (Mar. 4) in promotion of his upcoming album Eternal Atake.
Fans witness how Baby Pluto, Lil Uzi’s alter ego, came to be after he’s first seen working at his average office job. But things aren’t as they seem when the nearly unrecognizable artist receives cryptic messages on his desktop containing the same geographic coordinates that also sporadically shoot out of the printer.
The 25-year-old rapper drives to the mysterious location located in the middle of a grass field and witnesses a UFO crash from the sky, where two women wearing purple exit. “Futsal Shuffle 2020” plays in the background as the now unmistakable Lil Uzi undergoes his Baby Pluto transformation and ascends into the UFO that eventually flies away.
He helped direct the video with Gibson Hazard and even explained the meaning behind the purple-clad women on Twitter yesterday (Mar. 3) before releasing the short film.
The rebirthed Baby Pluto crafted his first message today, thanking Travis Scott for clearing his “Way Back” sample off his 2016 album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight for the fellow rapper.
