Lil Wayne Performs Biggest Hits Live on SNL’s 50th Anniversary: Watch

Lil Wayne is back in action just days after Kendrick Lamar‘s somewhat controversial Super Bowl performance in New Orleans. The rapper, who seemingly felt it was unfair for Kendrick to be picked over him for the Halftime Performance, performed classics from his catalogue on SNL instead.

Starting off with Uproar (as he asked where the love went, hmm), Wayne performed ‘Lollipop,’ ‘6 Foot 7 Foot,’ ‘Mrs. Officer’ and ‘A Milli’ — all with a live band and without a backing vocal track to let newer, doubting fans know what’s what.

The performance was part of SNL’s 50th anniversary celebrating an extensive contribution to sketch comedy, and featured artists like The Roots, Miley Cyrus, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Brittany Howard and Sabrina Carpenter, aside from Lil Wayne.

Recently, the rapper also began teasing his upcoming project, Carter VI — and this certainly seems to be part of the rollout. After the Kendrick name-drop and mention on GNX, fans are waiting to see if Lil Wayne has something to say in response in the new album. All’s left is to wait and find out!
