Following Mac Miller's family's announcement that they will be delivering his sixth and final studio album, Circles, next week, fans were treated to the late rapper's first posthumous song, "Good News."
The six-minute, poignantly graceful tune is accompanied by an abstract video that combines iconic themes and images from Miller's career into a colorful journey through the calming melody.
"That there's a whole lot more for me waiting on the other side/ I'm always wondering, if it feel like summer/ I know maybe I'm too late I could make it there some other time/ Then I'll finally discover," he softly muses in the heart-rendering third verse.
"At the time of his passing, Malcolm was well into the process of recording his companion album to Swimming, entitled, Circles," Miller's family shared in an Instagram post announcing the new album. "Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle–Swimming in Circles was the concept."
The album was completed with the assistance of producer Jon Brion, with whom Miller had been working with on Circles at the time of his passing.
Circles is out Jan. 17. Watch the "Good News" video below.
